The results showed: 70–82% improvement in skin smoothness (blinded expert assessment), significant reduction in wrinkles and microrelief lines, and prevention of seasonal loss of elasticity (placebo lost ~25% elasticity, while CoQ10 groups maintained elasticity). Both doses were effective. Self-assessment also showed improved skin firmness.

Clinical study under dermatological control with 35 women aged 40 to 70 with a dull complexion. The participants received 150mg SkinAx²™ daily for 2 months. A 6-month prospective study of 45 patients with knee osteoarthritis who received Theracurmin® (180mg curcumin/day). The results showed that 76% of patients experienced clinically significant improvements in pain and joint function. VAS pain scores, JKOM scores and JOA scores all improved significantly from baseline (p <0.05). Clinical benefits occurred within 1–2 months and persisted for 6 months. Theracurmin®® has a 27-fold higher bioavailability than conventional curcumin powder. No significant side effects were observed.

The participants received 350mg of wheat extract oil (rich in ceramides and digalactosyl diglycerides) daily for 3 months. Skin hydration on arms and legs was significantly increased compared to placebo. 95% of women in the treatment group showed increased skin hydration. Skin dryness, roughness and redness were reduced. The product was well tolerated and there were no side effects.

Results showed that wrinkle parameters and skin hydration worsened significantly in the placebo group but were maintained in the astaxanthin groups, while astaxanthin suppressed UVB-induced IL-1α and MMP-1 secretion and protected the skin from seasonal deterioration.

The results showed a significant improvement in skin elasticity and fine lines/wrinkles as assessed by dermatology, an increase in skin hydration levels as measured by instruments and improvements in skin texture/smoothness parameters compared to baseline/placebo, suggesting an overall improvement in skin condition with astaxanthin supplementation.

Open-label intervention study in 31 middle-aged men and women (>40 years) who took 4 mg of astaxanthin daily for 4 weeks. Results showed a reduction in plasma malondialdehyde (marker of oxidative stress) by 11.2% on day 15 and by 21.7% on day 29 compared to baseline, along with a significant reduction in corneocyte desquamation and microbial presence in residual skin surface components, suggesting improved skin surface morphology and reduced oxidative stress with continued astaxanthin intake.
